As you can see we use some different backgrounds, I try to use the same lens and setting the whole time.

We do not have big windows letting light come thru so we need to get the light somewhere, there is when the 580EXII comes in action.

Week 7! We can believe that the time has gone by so quick, she is getting longer moving to 0-3months clothes so it’s good think now she weight over 8lbs and growing.

Emerald Downs

Sunday we went to Emerald Downs, a great place to see race horses and great photo opportunities.

I took my 70-200 lens and the 1.4 adapter. 5D MKII

The pictures with the adapter were a little blurry not as sharp as without it.

It was a great experience regardless of the little time we spent there, the rain came down very hard and we just had to go… I’m hoping we can go back before the summer is over.

It’s been a while…

Here are a couple of goodies that I just purchased.

Lights and stand. I love to play with lights and create a different mood.

I purchased one of the cheapest setups to start with.

I still have to play around with the setting in my flash, but I’ll get there.

Tulip Festival

I have always wanted to go back to see the Tulips. They are located about an 1hr 30 minutes away from Seattle. Last time I was there it was probably about 10 years ago... This time fully prepared with the company of my wife and my two Canon cameras ready to get into action.

We got there at around 10:30ish and we went two to different fields this was the second day that they where open for the year. It wasn't as busy as I thought.

Mos of the pictures where taken with the Canon MKII and the 24-70 f2.8 I also had my Canon 1d's MKII with a 17-40 f/4 wide angle lens.

I'm an uncle!

You better remember that day, My brother Isaac and Pamm have a beautiful baby girl name Gabriela Isabel Bouchez.

We went to the hospital this morning to visit them and I have to say I almost had tears running... But I had to keep it cool.

Anyways I'm very excited to have a new member in the family. I got to hold her same as my wife and it was the greatest experience ever. Holding her small little head looking at her, you can really stare at the little one for hours and hours. can't wait for the rest of the family to see her. For no is just pictures and pictures!!

I took about 90 pictures in a few hours they really didn't much cropping or adjustments. 95% were all black and white. I wish I had more time to take pictures but the little one needs sleep and food.

I had a chance to take a few pictures during the event....

Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger speaks during a book signing event and speech at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on March 8, 2010. The recently retired airline pilot has been recognized an a national hero after he skillfully landed a passenger aircraft on the Hudson River after the plane lost its engine power because of a bird strike.

I had to try it again… I mounted the camera on the outside of the car in a parking lot… Yeah the mall security wasn’t very happy about it. I need to go somewhere else where I can actually take my time and give it a shoot.

Here is one of them; I had the camera mounted on the rear window with a ND filter x2 Long exposure picture 5DmkII with 17-40 f/4 in the exterior shoot.

Saturday we had to go to my sister's in law baby shower in Vancouver, WA. I had lot of fun talking to my brother, good food and good company!

I took about 160+ pictures of Isaac and Pamm opening the present that they received for their daughter. I kept about 140+ pictures. I had fun using my flash (580EX II) recycle time was ok; I believe I need a new set of rechargeable batteries.

After lunch I had a chance to take a couple of pictures of the view of the place we were having lunch! Amazing view and the day was breath taking, it was actually pretty warm for a winter day!

Suction cups part II

I had to take some time to try my new toy. I went out for a drive and placed the rig on the inside of the car with my 5D 17-40 f/4 lens and went out for a drive. I really need a filter to get a better exposure without getting the rest of the picture over exposed.

Here is a pic with some Photoshop magic, really easy to do; it really turned out pretty good.

Suction Cups

Today I got a suction cup... yeah a "suction cup" Kind of fun actually. I get to position the gadget on any surface on the car.

I really didn't have that much time to play around with it but here is a pic.

I can't wait to go to a parking lot at night where I can do some long exposure pictures.

I'll keep you posted. Although is kind of scary to have a $1,000+ camera hanging on the side of your car.

Tonight I had a chance to do some macro photography, it's not very easy... It takes a lot of practice. I only decided to stay indoors for now and try objects that don't move. Maybe in the future I'll try some insects.

A new era...

Right now I'll be trying to use my 85L more often. It's kind of hard for me to adjust I normally carry my 24-70 an the zoom is just great but I need to adjust to the quality of the Prime and keep it going. Also I'll be selling my 1.8 50mm and an 80mm 1.8 that I really don't use. May be that way I can get a better 50mm... we will see. I need to sell a bunch of crap. I need to create a new soft box and a frame for my backdrops.

Did I say that I love the 85mm?

Today I had a chance to got to my friends place and take some pictures. He is a pro! a fantastic photographer and it is great to have a 1 on 1 session with him. He is a Nikon guy I'm a Canon guys but man we had fun and I learned so much!

I had some free time tonight so I decided to play with my 85L. It is a very heavy lens a very slow auto focus but mostly used for portraits so you will be fine. I will have some examples of it soon.

I think is almost as heavy as my 24-70 but it is a very sharp lens!

Well I’m hoping I get to edit the pictures from the auto show today and will see how they came out.

I only had my 17-40 f4 with me, as well as the 580EXII. I actually got behind the ropes a few times to take pictures. It's nice when you're a freelance photographer and you have nice equipment - people see you like you're there for business!

Anyway, pictures will be posted tomorrow evening. Tonight is dinner with the family for my B-day….

The cage elevator of the museum is main point of attraction especially for the children. The elevator bears the reputation of being the oldest operating elevator in Canada. The gold and blue lacy ornamental grillwork of the elevator adds to its beauty. I got to go inside of it, couldn't ride it.

We headed to the Victoria's Craigdarroch Castle what a great place, so much history behind it (did I mansion I had a private guide) My wife volunteered at the castle in the before time.

I was kind of bummed that I forgot my flash at the hotel so I did my pest to shoot with a high ISO but some pictures came out with to much noise.

Next day we had an early start and we headed over to the Royal BC Museum, what a great place to visit by far one of the best Museums I have ever been to. The best thing is all the little towns inside of the museum they really catch your attention. I was very pleased with the permission of photography.

We arrived at the hotel Gran Pacific very nice hotel, very quiet and a nice view of the city. We went out for a walk after check-in and we had a drink; I bought a tester so good! Five different beers and well I had room for more but I had more walking to do and more pictures to take.

We went University of Victoria before entering town. I really like that place, we walked around campus for a while and we had to check out the gift store. My wife bought a hoodie “UV” and a few other souvenirs and headed out for lunch. Like I said before A&W “papa” burger was so good! Can’t wait to have it again.

The Ferry ride was fairly calm very relaxing, lots of time to take some pictures.

It was my second time in a ferry and I felt like a little kid going up and down the stairs going from one side to the other. My wife stayed inside reading while I was walking around in the cold. Man! it was windy and cold.

Trip to Victoria

This was my first time in Victoria and I must say that I really like this place. Very clean city and a very friendly atmosphere. My wife and I went there for a Valentine’s gate away/engagement anniversary. We left early in the morning on Friday 13th headed north on I-5 crossed the border at Vancouver and headed west towards the water. We took the ferry and arrived at Victoria in the afternoon. A&W for lunch (so good).
